Fools & Dreamers

This is the story of the Hinewai Reserve in New Zealand, an ecologic restoration project started in 1987, stewarded by Hugh Wilson.

I found it so interesting how the gorse was considered a bad weed (or maleza, in spanish). But when left on its own, it actually plays a super important role enabling other plants to grow. And then it dies. Such a beautiful cycle.

When learning how to plant with Silvia from Agrohuellas, she always insisted in calling them buenazas (or the good weeds :)), and to mostly let them be.

* My friend Sharon shared this video with me. She also mentioned that the gorse flowers are beautiful!
